east central ND | When the big $$$ prices of land sold in the better ag areas of the country are talked about, does that include the mineral rights? My immediate area has no mining, oil , gas wells, etc. so it really doesn’t get talked about much here. Our farm is mostly within a mile of the railroad, so I assume the railroad from the 1880’s has all the mineral rights.
How deep do surface rights go? We do not have any gravel, but I heard once that a good deep gravel pit could be considered mineral in some states? We are in the east end of ND, so no one talks water rights, most years too much water. And with windmills, now there is air rights?
Just winter time contemplation over my morning break. | |
