Champaign, IL | Deere stock has been setting record highs day after day. Less than $7 billion in stock value separate the two companies.
My parents in law gave me a gift of 15 shares of Deere stock in late 1998. Basis $551. Today’s value, after one split, $9280. Up 16.8 times. I bought some farmland about the same time, $2950 per acre. It is not up 16.8 times. Should have bought Deere. The Dow 30 is going to delist Cat and replace it with Deere. Cat should have bought Agco instead of selling Challenger to them. | |
