Trico is the sheep fat product used some around here last year.  They were impressed but if you can also use lead where possible I think you'll do more good in the long term.  Even if you use the repellent to get them to a place where you can shoot you'll be actually working on the problem.  I'm skeptical that they won't eventually become accustomed to any repellent.
