Southern Ontario | Thanks for all the great thoughts guys.
I appreciate you all putting the effort to providing these thoughts and observations.
I have not looked at all the attached links yet as I am busy tending crops.
You are doing a great service to everyone putting forward these Drs' opinions for our consideration and evaluation.
I myself have had very spectacular weight loss by attempting to lower insulin....so I am still on board with the program
But this quick reduction plateaued within a few months.
So I am still trying to refine the diet.
According to BMI standards, I should drop 25 more #.
I ventured on a very strict ultra low carb PLUS OMAD diet the last 2 weeks and resulted in actually gaining 1.5#.
Surely my insulin levels were very low under this strict OMAD regime???
So why no loss?
This is why I found Dr Ekberg's video, highlighted in this thread, saying protein can cause insulin spikes may be a clue and subsequently asked some questions here.
Is my next strategy an extended fast?
As far as snacking and eating habits of the past, my one set of Grandparents ate 3 meals daily that they would never think of skipping.
Plus they intermingled these meals with always making time to have a coffee and cookie or two at mid morning and mid afternoon......as well as ice cream or other treats before bed.
My Grandpa would be sure pack the snacks with him if he were at a far field but always came in for the main 3 meals. If I rode with Grandparents on a long road trip, they would be sure to stop for all meals and their snack breaks.
Yet they remained very slim and my amazing Grandma remained quite healthy until her 103rd year.
Like I said before, I share these same genetics, but somehow have a completely different response to nutrition.
Thanks again gentleman.
