Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning. | I have not had the sour experience with electronics that you have had. I bought a MT 845 in 2003. The tractor is a maze of electronics with one whole fender taken up by computers that control most everything on the tractor. The only electrical gremlin that has showed up was a bad switch in the shift knob. Mechanical problems have been much more of an issue. Some were covered by warranty and others have been up to us to fix. Solid state electronics are very reliable IMHO. With mechanical stuff, there is wear and metal fatigue to deal with. There is a case where one fellow is tracking a high mileage Tesla Model S. An 8 year old car with 430K miles on the clock. The car has been almost exclusively supercharged throughout its life. Never had oil changed and still on its original batteries and motors. According to tests, the car has lost about 40 miles of battery range due to battery degradation. |
