Central MN | I worked at a grocery store back in around 2010 in a wealthier rural area south of MSP. Anyway we had a customer appreciation dinner where you’d get a steak sandwich, beans, desert and something to drink for 4 bucks. We then offered a dollar off to people if they brought a non perishable item for the food shelf. Half of what we took in was stuff that was outdated from the back of someone’s cupboard. The worst was someone brought in a box of malt o meal dated 1993. After that we never did collect items for the food shelf again, instead we just gave them the cash | |
