cropsey, il 61731 | I'm not sure that it hasn't always been this way. The numbers certainly get your attention now, but large machines generally drop in price fast. As long as the used market will pay a premium for "right size" and ignore larger machines, this will be the case.
When my 1660 was pretty worn out, I finally snapped out of it and looked larger and saved a lot of money. I have a 7088 now that was cheaper than comparable 6088 & 5088 combines. However it's unlikely I go for a used class 10 in 10 years because I'll be 74 and the 7088 will still work fine. ...and maybe there is such a thing as too big in that case. | |
