Subject: Indexing a Holset turbocharger?

s.e. Pa
I replaced the exhaust manifold on a Cummins Big cam 1. The new manifold is slightly different and the turbo is in the same position, but rotated slightly. To get the intake side to line up I was able to loosen bolts on the inlet side of turbo and re index the inlet side. I tried to re index the exhaust side but it didn’t seem like it was going to come free too easily. Now the turbo is on and everything but oil drain hooked up. The oil drain doesn’t work with the old tube. I’m wondering if I should be loosening the exhaust side of turbo from center section to get it to re index, or if I should just use some fittings and hose for the oil drain as is?
