I wouldn't give up, I would take the advise of working with someone that is set up for a year or a month during fungicide season. You can operate under the direct supervision of a licensed pilot in command. Would be the way to figure out if it is something you would want to do. By that time there will be a new generation of drone out and could probably get a good deal on a used one.
