| Damp or swampy ground even along irrgation ditches you need wood posts. T posts will suck in and bend over very easily. If it was me I wouldn't go over 4 T posts per wood posts if trying to save money. Nice thing about damp ground you can drive wood. However I've seen a lot of 2 7/8" pipe used in place of wood posts on normal ground. If using 8' tall posts or so will help hold fencing from blowing over with tumble weeds or wildlife hitting them. In fire prone areas that's what I'd do.
