north central Ohio | 223 is what I use for kills permits in the summer and it drops them better then a 12ga and as good as my 350 legend. In my opinion bullet speed is what really does them in and it is more accurate then both my 350 and 12ga. I wouldn't go buy another gun for 200 yards or less. Good Luck! Edit to add as many guys say it is unethical and to small but yet we let guys wound more deer with arrows that I am sure a 223 would have not issue with knocking them down. These deer hunting pages and number of guys that have to bring in a drone or dog amazes me. Wonder what they all did 10 years ago? I would assume a lot deer were never found? Use your head and don't carried away shooting to far.
