Central Minnesota | I have large trees fall on my fence at least 10 times a year for the last five years. I’ve never had a cow get out either from a tree falling on the fence. I have those fence light indicators from Gallagher that flash every time the charge is above 4000 volts and every other time between 1-4000 volts.
I’ve put in many miles of woven wire and 5 strand barb where I grew up in South Dakota but I’d never put that in a forested area.
P.S. You can’t have any metal posts in an electric fence.
