NEMO | BG, foot rot usually will have some form of infection, but not necessarily an abscess. Antibiotic may or may not fix it, sometimes have to still lift the foot and clean it up. As often as not, maybe more so in MO, it is a foot injury with an abscess. We just had a bull last week that started gimping around. No swelling and I thought the injury was higher up on his bone. The vet said, "lets pick his foot up for the heck of it". He started cleaning and we saw a little fluid. He dug a little deeper and it exploded. Antibiotic shot, some Coppertox, a nice clean area, in 2 days it's like nothing was ever wrong. The point is, all foot problems are not foot rot, and to a lesser extent genetics | |
