North Mississippi Delta / Alabama Gulf Coast | My dad was a great father when my brothers and I were kids- ball games, family vacations, big Christmas and birthdays.
Once I got old enough to work, things changed. Through my teenage and young adult years, he was a tyrant and verbally abusive to us and mom. He promised to give us his ‘empire’ but we had to work for him cheap and wait till died. He pitted us boys against each other and taught us how to cheat and trick people out of money, especially family members.
Younger brother was a great student and still operates the same way today.
When he screwed me over on a land deal at 26, I moved on by working hard, living within my means and raising a great son with a great wife.
On the positive side, he taught me enough old school carpentry skills to make a good living and retire financially secure.
The empire was cashed out and what was left divided up between brothers. |
