Cherokee iowa | Yes I’m a cheap stake. Use to raise as babies but found a very nice man that hooks me up for a decent price. So I’ve been buying 200lbs weaned last few years. High demand for baby calves. He was pissed someone from Texas came up offered a whore house price for all the dairy’s babies. So our bottom line has went up substantially. It’s a battle to find it’s a battle to buy and a battle to keep them alive. Selling usually the easy part. I make most my money off the corn they eat. More the merrier I say. Sell fat at the barns take what they wanna pay that day pretty much. At some point I’ll get hung on a pen. Hopefully not till 2027 | |
