Clark, SD | Problem is they need a long term agreement in place to satisfy the NMP, my guess is most farmers in the area dont want to sign on for something as long term and have to take the manure every year. Just like how I farm, I'd rather own than rent because I have 100% control of my destiny. What happens if they're relying on other farmers to take the manure and those farmers pull out? Now the dairy would be stuck with all the facilities and not be able to use them unless they can find elsewhere to get rid of the manure.
Im not into the animal side, but in college I learned a lot about large cafos and how strict of regulations they follow. | |
