I suppose this is a good reason to just get a laptop rather than a desktop, the battery keeps things powered without trouble with things like you mentioned. Now that you got it going, Mcafee is a preloaded antivirus and it will bother you forever to pay for it. Just uninstall the app, it is easy to do.
