south central WI
I had a new salesman stop by about 5 years ago. I farm with my brother who is 2 years younger, a cousin who is 7 years younger, and his 1 year younger brother, so there's maybe an 8 year gap between me and the youngest. After 15 min of chatting, the salesman asked about how the operation was set up. He said "so you're the dad and these are your 3 boys?" That was good for a laugh and has been brought up many times.
About 3 weeks ago there was a seed rep watching over our test plot. Afterward we were talking. The rep had met most of the others, but not me. I introduced myself "I'm Brad, and that's my son Eric (my cousin)". He just said yup, and it didn't even phase him. He didn't even have a reaction, he already knew he was my son. My hair is turning fairly gray, and I have a hard time walking or standing at times, so I probably do look 20-40 years older than I am.
