NE ND | I broke the top hook on my 4630 3 point quick hitch. It is cast. The middle section of the hitch is no longer available, nor is the entire hitch available from john deere. Deere does sell a replacement 3 point "kit" that includes everything to make a cat 3 or cat 3n quick hitch. Part number is RE180668. However, the parts book lists this kit as a replacement for all 55 series tractors and up, but does not list the 30 or 40 series. I can also get a generic quick hitch from Sloan for 1/4 of the price of the John Deere hitch. I'm a little skeptical of the generic being a cheap import. Has anyone had to replace their 30 or 40 series hitch? Anyone have any opinions on best way or different way to proceed? | |
