There are U-tube videos of folks building a compost pile with leaves, old hay, grass clippings and some manure with pex pipe to add supplemental heat to homes. You also need a bigger perforated pipe to add air once in a while to "reignite" the heating in the pile. Takes a rather large pile to get much though.
