N.E. MT | We seem to be seeing similar things, bunch of ours were bred kinda late. 63 days of bulls but probably 20% are going to be late may/early June calvers. We only ever breed heifers 45 days and don’t ever run anything that didn’t raise a calf. in the past didn’t have trouble this seems to be new in the last 3-4 years. We have started keeping them separate all summer and giving extra mineral/salt as well as wintering them 2-3’s together. They are in good condition and we had pretty decent grass all year. Nothing more expensive than an open 3 year old.
We tested all our bulls for the first time ever right before turnout. 1% were iffy and got sold. None failed
