For hauling grain, nothing beats a hopper bottom for stability, ease of use, cost to own, legal payload, etc, etc. If you want to be able to haul other stuff, then maybe something else “can work” for hauling grain and everything else.
No idea what you got for a tractor but a light weight combo can haul 1000 bu of corn legally. Most trailers will hold 1200+, some will be ++++.
