| Our first trailer was a 30' end dump on steel frame. Still have the trailer but have added two 40' hopperbottoms. For grain we primarily run the hoppers and use the dump when we need a 3rd truck on the road & to fill at night. Otherwise is only used to haul lime or gravel.Pushes to get 900 bu of corn on the dump compared to 1,000 bu easily on the hoppers. Dump trailer weighs close to 2,000# more than the hoppers. If you go with an end dump be sure to put a liner in it, helps keep loads from sticking or freezing to the floor. After we put a liner in ours we can unload using one less stage of the cylinder. Be smart of where you dump & surrounding conditions | |
