Thanks for the ideas. I didn't really know about annular cutters that looks like it would work better than a hole saw. I should have clarified the place that quoted $50 a plate included material. Nonetheless I think it could be done a heck of a lot cheaper maybe I'll look around for another place with a waterjet or cnc table of sorts. I even thought about setting up my own langmuir cnc table but that may be more involved than I want at the moment. I've always always wanted a mag drill, this could be the excuse to get one. I don't mind spending some time if it saves money but I would think a waterjet would knock this out quick if it were affordable.


1/2" material is very easily and cleanly cut with almost any laser or fiber laser machine not to mention done very quickly also. Now if we are talking about cutting 1" or thicker material this is where a waterjet shines.
