| Anybody have any issues with these things catching on fire? I had one that caught under the cab/rear of the motor and had to replace the whole wiring harness, fan shroud, alternator, intake filter housing etc. I attributed it to sawdust buildup around the motor. This happened in February of 2024, then last week the same skidsteer had the same fire again, going to be replacing pretty much all the same parts. The difference is, this time the guys have been blowing it out daily so there was zero sawdust built up in there. I'm no fireman but it appears to have started in the same spot, around the harness where it crosses the bellhousing.
I see Deere has a parts DPAC case note attached to the harness part talking about how the use of improper wattage bulbs in the work lights can cause "harness heating" and issues with the fuse box. Now the fuse box is part of this harness I'll be replacing again, but the fuse box itself was fine, no heat damage or melting, where the harness 2 feet away is a ball of bare copper. I'm going to assume this may be the issue as the customer gets his replacement bulbs from the auto parts store, since when has that been a problem right? Just wanted to know others that have experienced this issue. Thanks!
