Subject: RE: Outside wood boiler- creosote build up

Savannah, NY
We have a classic edge 750. Heats my house and farm shop. 7 years old. Start it up every year around Oct 10. In warmer weather, have to turn up thermostat in shop a few times a day to let boiler burn hot for a while or creosote will build up. We use ash troll and burn 2 year old wood stored inside. I have used a blow torch to burn off built up creosote. Works ok. Chipping hammer if it's thick. Coat with fluid film when not in use.
