Melancthon, Ontario | Every time i dabble into 'odd' crops I regret it. Lots of stuff looks good in theory but just never seems to pan out successfully. I still play around with something different as much as I can but have come to realise that when cropping, look at the largest opperator around and copy what they grow more or less.
I know of some guys a few hundred miles north of you who have grown buckwheat, seems like lots can go wrong that you cant do anything about. Talked to a few guys that talk about their 300lbs crops or a crop not setting seed, or it shells out bad and is a problem in next years crop. I hear rumors of 1100lbs, but i have yet to talk to anyone in person who says they've got that much. | |
