A cheap fix I found is a ground problem. I've tried cleaning the alt and block meet but didn't help.
Try running a small (18ga) wire from the alt case to the negative post on the battery. It may solve your issue. I have 2 (4955 and 8970) with the intitrac system running the ground wire and it solved the problem. Have 2 more (4560 & 4960) that don't need the wire.
