I raked hay for several years with a Jeep. It had a 4 to 1 transfer case wit 4.56 gears and 2 wheel drive low. Had a hand throttle on the gear shift. Put it in 2 wheel low 3 rd gear and use the throttle to control speed. Had a hydraulic power unit off of a Tommy Lift to pick rake up and had a lever beside the seat to control. With the 6 inch lift and 44 inch tires it was the smoothest riding thing in the hay field.
