Carter axles (gooseneck, car trailer, etc.) any experiences?

I replaced a  10k Dex axle  with a  Carter on  a  hay hauler last winter.   Bolted right in,  and  wheel camber (zero for this axle)  looked  good.

I will say the  Carter weighed a little more overall.     For guys keeping track of every ounce,  this  may be an issue. 
I'm a   'more material,  has to be better'  guy.

Small things  like  full-circumference  welded  brake registers and spring pads  CAN  be an issue down the road... depending if the welder  was angry that day.  
I saved   a  tad over 600 bucks  over the  Dexter.   
I see no reason  not to  use them.
