I’m going off my experience with older GM pickup trucks. There’s no way that a GM transmission or axles/differential, would handle heavier field work, for very long. The
Fords on that era had much tougher drive train. The Ford 390, 460 and even the 300, were much tougher and stronger engines than GM offered.
