Southeast Colorado | Back 40 years ago when I was in HS, the parents of a friend of mine built a pretty dang nice house on the edge of a creek. It was a pretty unique build.........and the thing I remember the most was there was a coffee table looking thing in the middle of the living room that was actually the stump of a big Cottonwood tree! It was still in the ground where it had been cut off, but then was professionally finished somehow on the top and sides with the bark still attached. The house was literally built over the top of the stump. It didn't have any structural purpose......but it was definitely a conversation piece. | |
