There are limitations to how small of a head you can put on a big combine and still get good results. No way would I want to try a 6 row unless you average well over 250bpa.



That's not really a problem on a properly setup and set CIH combine, I can't speak for others.     The same rotor is/was used in Class 7-9 CIH combines and the same can be said about the Class 5-7 midrange combines.   "Keep it full or you'll lose too much" is mostly a myth.

The only thing that is at all a concern with running a 6 row on our 8010 is fuel and time consumption/acre.    The cost of the hour and gallons of fuel burned per hour doesn't change much, just the acres covered.
