Best option IMO is find a heavy older 7 shank ripper and remove every thing but the outside two shanks... This allows you to drive either direction and get closer to tree roots and not be hitting as many limbs with tractor... Second shank helps stabilize the draft and also cuts a few extra roots that may escape..
