The pros no longer use copper except for premade whips from tank valve to 1st stage regulator.
All piping underground is down in AGA fuel gas rated PE pipe.
It’s the yellow stuff.

Exposed piping should be black iron with malleable iron fittings.
They have pipe and fittings that are galvanized on the outside only but good luck finding them.
Black pipe is often painted if you don’t want the rust color.
