Do it about 5-6 times a week. Sprint a block, walk a block, sprint a block, walk a block. Sometimes shorter spurts if something isn't feeling right, like a knee or foot or something will start out slower to make sure things are ok. Injury is the last thing I want.
I'm up to 35 push ups before and 17 pull-ups after. That is my morning workout. Takes about a total of 30 minutes from out the door.
