| Dry urea can work if spread evenly and timed correctly (sounds like you have the spreading component figured out with an air spreader). The other challenge with surface applied urea (without a good rain soon after application) is the higher risk of volatility (compared to UAN), but products like Agrotain can limit this for +/- 20 days at the full rate. Urea can be slightly cheaper per acre (for the same amount of N) compared to UAN, but research shows wheat yields slightly less with surface applied urea, compared to surface applied UAN. AMS is a good source of N and S to add to the urea, but it's usually more money than other forms of N+S, plus it's increased in price recently (relative to other N/S forms). Maybe you have it pre-paid, hope so!
