I read what you wrote. I think you’re picking at a fine line. The roads/bridges/tunnels/air traffic control/law enforcement/national security and defense may not “create” value. But without most of those things and honestly many many more than I
I listed, the companies that create value products would either not be able to be in business or they wouldn’t have much means to transport their products. It’s honestly a self reliant circle as I see it. The private sector is dependent upon the public services in countless ways. And the public sector could not exist without the private sector paying the taxes that fund everything. I’m all for reducing wasteful spending. But with it will come pain for many of the population. In agriculture then we should expect to see all aspects of support drastically cut or ended. Including low interest beginning farmer loans, ccc low interest loans, subsidies galore and more grants than a person could ever fathom. We should not consider ourselves an elite sector of society. I’m nearing the end of my ag career, so I’m fine with wherever it goes. I just don’t wanna hear a bunch of bitching on here about cuts. My God, go back and read the entitled posts back in December about the money for agriculture in the continuing resolution bill. Hack it all down if that’s what you all feel is best.
