Subject: Deer behavior question...

RR Valley, ND; MN native
So, I have been working from my home office most of this week.

Around lunch time, I was looking out the upstairs window and there is a deer standing in the narrow strip of brush between my yard and the neighbor but behind a shed they have on their (and mine) rear property line.

I watched for a bit and a roaming cat in the area approached and said deer was stamping its foot in warning.

Went back to work and paid no mind. So, now over 3hrs later I went and got the mail and when I got to the door I happened to look into the back yard and this deer is still there !?

I looked at it and it looked a me a bit before I went in the house. Some time later and its still there. Just seems to be standing in one spot this whole time.

I live in town and I know there are deer that go around the neighborhood at night or early morning but you don't see them in the middle of the day.

Is this one just sort of "hiding out" as it got caught out in the daytime and too scared to head back to the river valley area a few blocks away?

Far as I can tell its been standing in this same spot for hours. Does not look obviously sick, etc.
