WC IA | Took about 18 inches out of me early April 2018 50 years old. Emergency surgery due to ruptured bowel due to diverticulitis. Opened me up from below belly button to just below rib case. They said they had my guts on the table to wash. I wore a bag until September when they reconnected the ends using scopes. For first surgery, I was in hospital 3 days, walking quarter mile laps in hospital they let me out early. It was tough couple weeks, but I could mostly take care of myself. Bending over, sitting up or lying down sucked. So any movement that you used abdominal muscles for like sitting up was difficult. After about a month my wife or daughter followed me around so I didn’t lift or do anything beyond drs orders. By June I was cleaning out bins. When they reconnected me, it was no big deal-although on light duty a few weeks. As far as eating, regularity, I’m back to normal. | |
