Nebraska | Depends on how often you use the chute. Most likely yes it’s well worth it unless you’re only using it a few times per year. For a feedlot situation with revolving inventory, it’s a very good investment in your future health. And generally quieter, with a better hold on your critters when you need it. Cow/calf only operations may not have enough days of use to justify it, but as a combination cowherd and growyard I wouldn’t be without the hydraulic now that I have one.
ETA: I used to custom AI and as such have been around several manuals. Arrowquip is overhyped, preifert seems just a bit small but operates nice, and several are ok, but my preference in manual chutes would be a Formost 450 with the palp cage. Handles various sizes well and held up well
