Put it on the list of things that will never happen. But....

Why not heavily subsidize wheat? Pull ARC and PLC off corn and beans. The kicker, lower the CRP acres by 50%. Would still be governement influence, but at least producing.

Better for erosion and wildlife, Would lower acres of beans and corn, makes planting corn the next year almost bulletproof in this area. Can still feed it, plant covers after harvest.

Widespread drought in some poor African country? No problem, we're america and here to help.

Finally, sorry for beating the CRP horse. Here in the land of the marginal, its fairly popular. I'm a big fan of filter strips but they are pretty rare around here, and tree control is a sum beach.


Why not subsidize nothing?



I can almost make wheat occasionally pencil without subsidies as is ..
