Early 1990,s got my start with 100 sows farrowed in confinement and nursery was confined. All the rest was in cargill buildings cleaned by hand. Wore out and broke handles on many 10 tine forks and push sticks. Eventually could afford 925 Belarus with loader. Full time Job in town also. Can’t see many of today’s young people willing to do it—don’t think I would either. Worn out shoulders keep reminding me of those days. that way of starting out has been removed from the list. |
