I don't believe there's ever been a time in ag when there's been such a huge gap between the "rich and poor".
I wd be curious to know the average age of those on here that keep calling for all payments to be cut. It's an enviable position to be in (I might be there too, but it's taken a lifetime)
In talking to area bankers they have PLENTY of customers who are going to be able to farm another year and cash flow because of the $30/acre payment.
And guess what? They're not all young guys and they didn't ALL make outlandish purchases.
If you don't need the money, be happy.
I don't need it either but I don't begrudge those less fortunate/younger that will benefit immensely from it.
It won't go in savings and it won't be for a new pickup. | |
