Doesn’t that just make everything made out of it immediately more expensive? Can you build a new steel plant or aluminum smelter overnight? If the goal is to bring industry back to the US, why not stair step the tariffs to tie with a timeline it takes to build a new plant? Hmmm
Aluminum smelting takes a lot of electricity....doubt that there is any plan to build a new one in the USA at this point.
