| Can we honestly compete? We need new, state of the art facilities built from scratch. Can’t be government subsidized as that is against the new rules. The only people that are willing to invest in US Steel seems to be the Japanese. I don’t see a bunch of American companies willing to outbid and invest in the business.
When Carnegie was in charge in the glory days, everything was cutting edge , new technology. I don’t see the best and the brightest jumping at the chance to work in the steel mills. Times have changed. Not saying it can’t be done, seems like most with the funds and ability to do it are focused on other things | |
