It is my understanding that they would only have to change to a efficiency standard rather than an emmissions standard. Europe went to fuel efficiency and mostly got it accomplished by increasing fuel pressure to provide better atomization resulting in a cleaner burn. Leave it to us to create an entire new industry to overcomplicate a simple problem using def and regen. I might be generalizing on the european side.
Exactly. Efficiency benefits the end user as well as the environment. After treatment systems are a detriment to both in my opinion. |
