Weren't some of the Whites like the 6105 Same built? from what I have gathered those are not really in great demand.

Yes, I should have said that. The AGCO Allis 8610 and 8630 and the AGCO White 6105 had an electronic governor, and they have gave us some issues...not terrible, but for an electronic engine in 1993, it wasn't amazing. They aren't hard to diagnose and work on, but people tend to throw parts at them instead of doing what they should, so they got a really bad reputation. I have a 20 page troubleshooting bulletin that walks through every single part of the engine controls and how to diagnose it.

They also had a 2 speed powershift transmission available, like a high/low in each gear, and if a guy ran them low on oil you could have expensive issues....but that's anything.

In reality, the reliability of the SAME built units boiled down to operators and maintenance. If you had a cowboy who like to jam gears, they would break shift forks...if you ran them low on oil, they could burn up transmissions...I can't say all of that is the tractors fault, but sure, they could have made the design better to combat low oil levels. Most manufacturers had models that would take neglect better than others, or were more forgiving.

I'm sure a lot of folks think that AGCO also doesn't support them very well with parts, but I have yet to find anything I can't buy for them from a SDF dealer. If your AGCO dealer says the part is discontinued, unless someone there was around when those were sold and built, or calls AGCO Parts, then they likely don't know that they were built by SAME and you can call an SDF dealer for anything AGCO has stopped sourcing.
