Subject: RE: FHL tractor hoods

Caraway, AR

I put one on a 8130 last year.

The fit is good, not perfect.

The finish is good, not perfect.

The original screens will go in the new hood...be careful taking the plastic screens out or you will break of the tabs. You can put silicone around the ones you break off.....no one will know but you and it will hold. The metal screens will be better.

You may want a dremmel tool handy to ream out some of the slots,(for the screens) because they may have some threads of fiberglass in them.

I sold the tractor after I put the hood on and the buyer didn't say anything about a bad fit or finish.

Wheather you put on FHL or John Deere hood, this is a bigger job than you think....so be ready for that.

The Fiberglass hood is stronger than the plastic was.

All in all I was pleased with it after the install.

John

Edit: After the way John Deere didn't stand behind those hoods I would have put a piece of rotten plywood on it before I would have bought another JD hood.
