South Central MN | Yeah, if you don't need to move it, buy a mini pc or all-in-one for what you're doing. Likely better cooling so shop dust won't kill it so quickly.
If you wanted a laptop to be portable, we really like our surface tablet for the tasks you describe other than leaving it in the shop. You can find refurbished surfaces for $300-400. Ours has been very solid for 4 years now. It's way lighter & thinner than most laptops, and if you want to watch movies on a car ride it's better than laptops. Takes a little bit to get used to but we would buy another.
If you're only using it in the shop and not moving it anywhere, get the mini pc. | |
